Meet Nikki.
When asked why she wanted to become a
member of Mile High Youth Corps, Nikki responded, “…I needed a new path. A way
to make smart friends, have a form of income, and to be happier with other
people and myself.” And that is exactly what she has done.
Nikki Benjamin grew up in Denver, and first learned about Mile High Youth Corps when an Energy Conservation crew serviced her family’s home – not only making it more efficient, but also helping to off-set rising costs. At this time, Nikki was struggling with the loss of three family members; making decisions she would later regret. She was looking to make a positive change in her life. Nikki was impressed by the work ethic and professionalism of the crew, her peers, and wanted to be a part of something like MHYC. “Now that I am here at MHYC, I’m happier than ever and I am progressing in a very positive direction,” said Nikki. “I am taking on the real world because of the resources of Mile High Youth Corps.
